Mahama Ayariga Condemns Koku Anyidoho’s Coup Comments, Commends Police For Arresting Him

The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga has condemned the comments by deputy general secretary of his party, Koku Anyidoho, that a repeat of the 1972 coup which toppled President Akufo-Addo’s father will happen again.

Koku Anyidoho was arrested on Tuesday afternoon at International Press Centre where his party, in collaboration with other individuals, were planning a demonstration against government, which is slated today.

Speaking in an interview with Daniel Dadzie on the Joy Super Morning Show this morning, Mahama Ayariga condemned his party executive for predicting a coup against the government.

According to Mr. Ayariga, Koku’s comments were very ‘reckless’ and should be condemned by all.

He also commended the security forces for acting swiift to arrest him. He however disagrees with them for not giving him a bail.
