The maiden edition of the Ghana Football Awards was held on Sunday night (July 8) at the Marriott Hotel in Accra.
The Ghana Football Awards aims at recognizing and honoring most outstanding Ghanaian football stakeholders in the season under review.
The award scheme is set to become an annual tradition which will honor not just footballers but all individuals and groups that will contribute in one way or the other to promote Ghana Football worldwide.
At the maiden edition, Black Stars and Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey was voted footballer of the year.
He beat off competition from Swansea star Jordan Ayew, Richard Ofori of Maritzburg United in South Africa and Aston Villa’s Albert Adomah.
He was given a cash prize of 50,000 cedis.
As usual several top celebrities and high profile personalities were there to grace the event. They include, Azuma Nelson, Kwaku Sintim Misa a.k.a KSM, Fella Makafui, Shatta Michy, Moesha Boduong, Rosemond Brown and Prince David Osei.
