The Human Rights Court 1 presided over by Her Ladyship Justice Gifty Agyei-Addo has set-aside the orders of the General Legal Council suspending renowned human rights lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu from practice for 3 years.
Her Ladyship on 11th July 2018, also set-aside the one year mentorship handed to Lawyer Sosu.
She found that the charges of Touting and Personal Advertisement as grave misconduct were not in accordance with law.
This follows the hearing of an Application for Judicial Review filed by Lawyer Sosu on 3rd November, 2017.
Lawyer Sosu, on May 31st 2017, was banned for practicing as a lawyer for three year after the General Legal Council found him guilty of professional misconduct — touting and personal advertisement — which is contrary to the code regulating legal practice in the country.
