American R&B superstar Beyonce has arrived in Ghana for the Year of Return.
She was was joined by her husband, rap legend Jay Z and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles arrived in Ghana on Friday and she took photos with some staff of the Kotoka Airport.
The Year of Return, since its launch has seen many A-list celebrities and high profile personalities visiting Ghana. They include American rapper T.I, rapper Ludacris, journalist Roland Martin and many others.
The “Year of Return, Ghana 2019” is a major landmark spiritual and birth-right journey inviting the Global African family, home and abroad, to mark 400 years of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia.
The Year of Return celebrates the cumulative resilience of all the victims of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade who were scattered and displaced through the world in North America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
