After initially lying, actress Jada Pinkett has finally admitted that she had a romantic affair with singer August Alsina.
August Alsina, a week ago confessed to having a 3-year affair with Jada, with the permission of her superstar actor husband, Will Smith.
“I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership … he gave me his blessing,” he revealed.
“I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her. I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody,” the musician said of his relationship with Jada.
While the Smiths initially denied Alsina’s claims, saying they were “absolutely not true”, the powercouple have finally confirmed that the latter and Jada were actually a pair.
Dishing it all out on her Red Table show, joined by husband Will, Jada said while she did dated August, it was however not true that Will gave them the permission as claimed by the R&B singer.
According to the mother of Jaden and Willow Smith, she was actually separated from her husband at the time she became romantically involved with Alsina, and so needed no permission to have an extra-marital affair.
“We were over,” Jada Pinkett said. “From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August.”
She added: “One of the things I want to clear up that was kind of swirling in the press was you giving permission, which the only person who can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself.
“But what August was actually trying to communicate — because I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably — I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s not a homewrecker, which he’s not.”
