Gospel singer Amy Newman opened up about her personal life in a rare interview with Lexis Bill on Personality Profile last Friday.
In the interview, the Takoradi-based musician shocked the host and listeners when she disclosed that she has been a housewife all her life.
According to the mother-of-eight who is married to Rev. Kwesi Newman, despite being a trained caterer from the Takoradi Polytechnic, she has never really worked before.
“Ever since I got married 40 years ago, I haven’t worked before. I haven’t worked at any company before. I haven’t even written application letter before. I am just a house mistress or housewife,” she said.
When asked by Lexis what did she use the catering course for, she responded that did it because she loves cooking and not because she wants to do business with it.
“I went to do catering at polytechnic when I was pregnant with my 6th born. Food is on my fingers. I love cooking, that was why I wanted to do catering, so I just went for one year. I didn’t start business with it, I just did it,” she revealed.
