President Akufo-Addo has ordered Communication Minister Ursula Owusu to suspend directives given to Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to reduce the number of their channels.
The minister few days ago directed the state broadcasters to reduce their six to three. The directive received huge backlash from the public, with some civil societies comparing it to state capture.
According to a statement issued by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at Office of the President, the minister who is also the member of parliament for Ablekuma Central should wait till further consultation with stakeholders.
