Former president Jerry John Rawlings says he disagrees with people who criticize his former confidante Kwamena Ahwoi for the timing of the release of his book, “Working with Rawlings”.
Many, including top journalists like Abdul-Malik and Raymond Archer has slammed Ahwoi for releasing a controversial book at the time the party must be seen as a united front as they approach the 2020 polls.
However, Rawlings, on Twitter this morning, thinks the timing is actually deliberate from Ahwoi in order to destabilize the NDC as they campaign for the elections.
According to Ghana’s longest serving leader, Ahwoi and his brother do not want John Mahama to win the elections so that they can take over the party from 2021 going.
He added that Prof. Ahwoi wants to tarnish his legacy before the release of his highly-anticipated memoir which he has titled “The Triumph Over Evil”.

There is nothing ill-timed about Kwamena Ahwoi serving dankwansere soup at this time. He needed to knock down Rawlings… pic.twitter.com/lpwuuJrZmO
