Running mate to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, Prof Naana Opoku Agyemang, has asked the judiciary to serve the same punishment they gave to the Montie 3 when they committed contempt of court to member of parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong.
According to her, the judiciary must be consistent and should sentence Hon. Agyapong as they did to the Montie 3 when they committed similar offence.
“If you are going to talk about name and shame, you should be consistent. If you are going to apply the laws, you should be consistent. If you are going to apply the punishment, you should be consistent.
“If you say somebody has scandalized the law court and you allow the process to go through. And the person has apologized, has done everything. The law took it course. The person was fined, the person was sentenced. Another person does the same thing, also scandalizes the court and when he apologizes, you say it is okay. That is corruption! And I want to see that also highlighted. That is corruption!” she said.
Her comment comes after Kennedy Agyapong apologized to the Chief justice, judges and the Magistrates Association of Ghana for insulting a judge on live television.
