Professor Benneh’s cleaner, identified as James Nana Womba, has confessed his involvement in the murder of the University of Ghana law lecturer, state prosecutors say.
The cleaner also named three others as his accomplices for the gruesome murder, of which one has already been arrested.
The prosecutors say because of the confession by the cleaner, the state has now dropped the case against Isaac Botchwey, Christian Pobee and Adams Mensah, who were all arrested and charged with murder.
According to the state prosecutors, efforts are underway to arrest the two others as they got the court to grant them an arrest warrant.
The names of the two were not stated in court.
Prof. Yaw Benneh was found dead in the morning of Saturday, September 12 at his Adjiringano Mansion in Accra under circumstances suspected to be murder.
He was suspected to have been killed two days before his body was found tied on a chair.
