NPP settles on wife of murdered MP to replace him

The New Patriotic Party has chosen a successor to the party’s parliamentary candidate of Mfantseman who was killed last week.

The party has reportedly settled on Mrs. Ophelia Hayford, widow of Ekow Kwansa Hayford, as his successor for the 2020 polls.

The party has sent a letter, yesterday, to the EC to invoke section 13(4) of CI 127 to allow a 10 day extension of the nomination period within which period the party will file her name.

Mrs. Hayford is an Assistant Superintendent of Police and has written to resign from the Ghana Police Service.
